The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. Just as a flower blooms in the spring time God’s love blooms ALL THE TIME! As his love pours out so do the many blessings he gives up!! He even reminds us in his Word that he will take care of us just as he takes care of the birds in the air and the flowers in the fields. Therefore we should praise the Lord for all that he has done for us!! We can look back and easily find the downsides of our lives but let’s focus on the many blessings he has given us because he loves us!! The best blessing of all is that He sent his Son to “remove our transgressions from us” and he “forgives all our sins”. Who could ask for anything better than that?!? Remember his great love and his great blessings on this Valentine’s Day and always!! Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Triple Play Part Two

Not a big fan of the mini albums which is how triple play is being advertised?? Thanks to another CTMH consultant I have any idea of how you can use triple play. You can make cards!! :)

Here are my cards and the only extra supplies I needed were extra colonial white cardstock for the cardbase and I used the new opaques mocha adhesive gems for extra embellishments.

Triple Play part 1

Life certainly has been busy and I certainly haven't been posting...one of the big event in my life has been a new baby in the family!! My brother and sister in law had a baby girl in August and everyone is super excited as she is the first one! First daughter, first grandbaby, first niece...and since she is a special little one we all need to brag right??? So I was able to use the pink album from the triple play to create a auntie brag book!! Here are the pictures of my album I created...

The first pages--information about Macy's birth and picture of Macy and I just after she was born! We made it there about an hour after her birth! I just love this picture because it looks like she is smiling/laughing at me when she really was crying :)

Baptism weekend was the next weekend so the next pages are of her baptism.

Hard to believe that my baby brother is a daddy--but he is a good daddy and I am so happy for him and Amy! So I had to include a daddy/daughter picture in my brag book! Plus one of my favorite (I have a feeling I am going to have ALOT of favorites!) pictures from Labor Day weekend.

I still have room :) but just need to print some more pictures out!! I am sure I will get some more cute ones this weekend while she is visiting!

Studio J!!! My pages from Christmas 2009

I finally got to play with the Studio J online scrapbooking program that CTMH came out with!! I decided to do the Christmas 2009 pictures. I just submitted my order but I couldn't go to bed until I had a chance to share my new COMPLETED layouts!! Here are some of my layouts that I completed the last couple days! I got more complete layouts with embellishments added and journaling done this past weekend then I did over the weekend of my retreat!!

Christmas Memories...I still had quite a few pictures left so I decided to just make a page with random pictures!

With each family member I dedicated a page for them and them opening their parents. I put my mom and dad together since I didn't have enough to make a complete layout of their own!

My mom's own page with the focus on the new camera! BTW I was taking the pictures with her new camera and we wrapped the old camera in the box! lol

The next two pages focuses on my brother and sister in law. I at first did the two of them on the same layout but then I found some more pictures so I decided to make them their own pages...so Amy's is the right page on the first picture and the left page on the second picture and Travis' is the left page on the first pic and the right page on the second pic. Hope that makes sense!! It will be right in my album!!!

Sweet and Simple is the best way to describe this card using some fun new fantastic scrapbooking or card making supplies from our new Summer catalog!! The cute new paper is Cherry-O paper with awesome colors!! We also got some new tulip accesorries. I used the buttons to create the look of the cherries. To complete the cherries I used the new Irresistibles pizzazz which is chipboard that is white. Then I inked it with some color to see the design pop up! How cool is that!! :)

Join me for my first retreat and help me celebrate my 30th birthday doing what I love most: scrapbooking!!! All crafters are invited to my Crafty Fiesta Retreat! This is a low key retreat where you will have all you want craft time. Come work on your many craft projects and get tons done in the comfort of your pajamas and enjoy time with friends!!

Hotel room check in begins at 1 PM on Friday. The crop room will OPEN on Friday at 3 PM (if you would like to come earlier please contact me). For the night owls, you can stay up as long as you want but if you need to reenter the room after midnight you will need to get the front desk to open the room for you. Plus at the request of the hotel we have “quiet time” after 10 PM. On Saturday, you can crop any time you want to throughout the day. At anytime, feel free to take a break, swim, or nap. On Sunday, hotel room check-out is at 12 PM and you can crop any time you want to. I will start clean-up of the craft room late afternoon on Sunday and leave sometime after supper. You can choose how many days you would like to attend the event. You can also choose to stay the night at the hotel or go home at night and return in the morning.

I am cheating this month! I have a good excuse why!! Between school, spring break and being sick for two weeks I have been super busy or super tired!!

My upline made this cute card for me at the last unit meeting since I had to leave early!! The directions I got from her calls this card a Texas tri fold. Looks kinda of complicated...guess I got to make it to find out if it really is :)

I apologize for the quality of the picture. I really need a new camera!!!! I have been working on my top stitch wotg and thought I would use these papers to create two very simple cards. I hope you enjoy them.

I am trying to decide if my Easter card needs something else or not. I decided to just leave it for now...but I may add something later!! :) What do you think?? I used the die cut at the area scrapbook store to get the egg shapes.

We all have someone to send thank you to. I created this card and love the simplicity of it!! Now I just need to decide who will get this gorgeous thank you card.

Oh where has the time gone...I had every plan to make some more cards this weekend with this fabulous stamp of the month. Lucky for me at my unit meeting last weekend I made this gorgeous card. I have seen this card around and have been wanting to make it. So I was pretty excited to see that Verna has planned for us to make it at the meeting. What a cute card and a cute card should be displayed!!! :) This card was also a PIECE OF CAKE to make too!! :)

Valentine's For Kids

I am finally able to do a Kid's Club for Valentine's. I am so excited and can't wait to help the kids make their valentines for their friends and classmates, their teacher and parents or grandparents.

This year I am going to go animal theme for the Valentine's cards to give to their friends and family. The credit for these cute little 3x3 cards goes to several CTMH consultant as they posted their ideas on the CTMH board. I don't know who started it so thanks to the person who created this and sharing it with us. The children will be making 5 of each cards for a total of 25 cards.

I found these cute plastic heart containers at a local scrapbook store. I am planning on getting some candy to put in these containers. What a sweet present for a sweet person--their teacher!! :)

The most important person in a child's life is their parents or grandparents. I decided to make little mini tri fold card for the children to let their parents or grandparents know how much they love them. Plus a little extra surprise will be included--well let's say it's a suprise :-) Thus why I didn't include the picture of the project (I will after the workshops have been completed!!)

I finally got to play with my new felicity collection last week/weekend (I have been on a roll with my projects!!). The reason I scrapbook is to record those special memories! This event I scrapbook is one of the rare events where it is just my dad and I doing something. I am a huge country fan and was so excited when I heard Reba was going to do a concert!! Part 2 of Sweet Home

Okay here is the second layout I made from the Sweet Home workshop. The layout is using the same cutting guide as yesterday only difference is different paper from the sweet home paper pack. This is my "Before Meets After" layout. Enjoy!!

The workshop on the go also provides two more layouts that you can create using this paper pack. The cutting guide is provided in one of CTMH's how to book Cherish: Puzzle Junkie. My mom gave me this idea--to put the Christmas pictures (and any other pictures I get from friends and family in a scrapbook and have them all together. What a great way to see those kids grow up!! This is my layout I created--I have blocked out the names and pictures as I didn't get permission from the mom to show their pictures. :-)

Sweet Home Workshop on the Go

It has been awhile since I have posted on my blog. I could list many excuses why not...but the main reason is I haven't been motivated to work on my scrapbooking and cardmaking projects lately. I did some rearranging in my room and reorganized my scrapbooking/cardmaking supplies and that seems to have helped!! (I will post pictures of my "new" room at another date!) Plus I was busy with a few craft fairs and of course the Christmas season can keep one busy with extra activities happening!

Anyways here is my project that I really really struggled with...to be honest it wasn't a favorite paper pack...I just couldn't get into it as it seems antique looking to me and I felt I didn't have any pictures for it. Thankfully I keep racking my brain for pictures I had and found a few that I could use. AND I still have a few more pictures to use up for this paper pack that I haven't gotten around to scrapbook yet!!

Every other month I have a club that meets at the hostess' house (the hostess is the one who gets the hostess reward for the month) and we put together the workshop on the go she has picked out. This month the hostess Karen picked out the Sweet Home paper pack. We will be meeting at her house this Friday, January 22nd. Wedding over...now what??

My family and I headed to California in September for my cousin's wedding. We had a GREAT time and it was great seeing everyone and being able to sightsee in Gilroy and San Francisco! Hopefully you will be able to see the layouts from those fun days here soon!

Here is a picture of my family, Grandma and Burt with the bride and groom.

Here is a picture of Melinda with her family.

But my focus of this blog will be on the cute wedding gift that I made for the bride and groom from my whole family! Which brings me to my title!

Weddings over...now what?? Just because you are now married doesn't mean that the dating is over!! We helped Melinda and Ruben out by giving them a date book to some popular resturants!!

I was able to get this idea for a mini album from Anna Jarnagin who shared directions with CTMH consultants to create a Flip Flap photobook. Thanks Anna!!

Throughout the album I was able to include a poem, pictures and gift cards. Note with the gift cards I was able to use the slogan from the resturant! I loved how the picture worked with the slogan!! I didn't even plan that!! Enjoy!

In the pictures above and the two pictures below I was able to use the hot pink ribbons from the table decorations! It helped add some color to these pages!! The reception hall was so beautiful with the black, white and HOT pink!!

We decided not to use a gift card for the above as there might be a favorite resturant or place that Melinda and Ruben may go to...Or they may want to go back to the place where it all started and since we didn't know where it was and not familiar with the San Jose area we decided to gift them money so I made a mini paper gift card pocket to the money in.

I was also able to make a cute little matching gift bag for the date book. It was easy to make. One sheet of cardstock cut and score to make this cute little bag!!

The gift was a popular gift and the bride and groom were happy to have pictures to show off while waiting for the photographer to get their pictures to them!! Here they are looking at their gift!!

November SOTM blog

Time flies when you are busy...hard to believe is it November already!! The beginning of the month also means SOTM blog time!!! Here is a new SOTM called Around the Block, a set of 26 stamps. I am giving my first card to my close friend, Amy, from college. She just brought a house and I am so proud of her making that big accomplishment!! I call this card an accordion card as it opens up like an accordion.

In the middle I put a little gift card envelope with some money inside it so Amy can buy herself something new for her house!! I used a ribbon to wrap around the money so she can pull out of the holder.

My second card is the stair step cards. I have seen this card several times now and thought I would try it out with this stamp set. What do you think??

The top step has the clouds. I also stamp Home…and finished the statement in the next step.

The middle step has some trees. I used the “clouds stamp” to make the trees and the wood rectangle to create the trunk and branches. I also inked the bottom of the steps to make it look like there is grass here too. I finished the statement on this step…where the heart is.

The bottom step has the house and a fence. I inked the bottom to make it look like grass on the bottom.

Fall Fun for Everyone Part 2

Fall Fun is coming up pretty quick. I will also be teaching grade school kids some fall fun projects.

The first two projects has to do with circles!!! Lots of them!! I got this idea from two different websites...one was the CTMH's consultant artboard and the other is a website I go to when looking for ideas (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/)

Turkey for Thanksgiving

The next is a cute little project that has been posted over and over again as everyone is scraplifting it. I am not sure where the orginial idea came from but thanks for the great idea!! Here are my little pumpkin matchbooks I have put together.

Fall Fun For Everyone Directions for Kid's Club

Here are the directions for the three Kid's Club projects we made for Fall Fun for everyone.

Jack O'Latern Matchbook-

1. Cut 2 1/2 x 6 piece of cardstock
2. Score at 2 1/4 and 5 1/4 (if you are making alot do all the scoring first then cut!)
3. Stamp image on front cover. I used spooky smiles image.
4. Staple the lifesavers to the 1 in piece inside the matchbook.
5. Use a hole puncher to punch out eyes and glue eyes in middle of lifesaver.

What a simple project!!

Circle Pumpkin-

1. Punch out 10 circles of any size(this can also be an oval or scallop circle) I used three inch circle for my bigger circle and 1 1/2 in circle for the smaller one.

2. Sponge all of the circles with some cocoa to give it the brown texture you see on pumpkins.

3. Fold the circles in half. The side that you sponged should be in the inside of the circle.

4. Using the glue stick glue one half of the circle to the another half of the circle and keep going until all the circles are glued together. In order for the pumpkin to stand I cut off from the bottom a section of the circle.

5. Use a tiny strip of cocoa to make the stem and squeeze inside the hole.

6. Take some green paper and curl for the ivy and you can stamp a leaf using one of the leaves stamp set of if you still have the paper leaves from CTMH you can use that (it has been retired for some time now)

7. Decorate your house with these cute pumpkins or give as a gift! :) What an easy homemade gift!!

Circle Turkey-

1. Punch out 8 circles from your biggest circle puncher and 1 circle from the smallest. (this can also be a scallop circle) I used three inch circle for my bigger circle and 1 1/2 in circle for the smaller one for the face.

2. Fold the circles in half.

3. Using the glue stick glue one half of the circle to the another half of the circle and keep going until you have two groups of 4 circles that are glued together. One group will be for the front and the other group will be for the back. In order for the turkey to stand I cut off from the bottom a section of the circle

4. Stamp eight images from the playful petals stamp set onto colonial white or white daisy. I used three different yellow color for fall colors. One of my students did pink and purple another did blue and green. Use your imagination for the colors :) Cut out the eight images.

5. Find a background and texture paper you want. Glue the images from above onto this paper creating a fan look. (I had a template for my kiddos to trace...if I had a scanner I would scan it for you.) Once you glue all that down cut around to make it look like feathers (one big piece)See picture below for my template I created.

6. Glue the background and texture to a cardstock and cut again around the feathers to create one larger feathery body. See picture below for my template I created.

7. Glue the groups of circles onto the body. One group will go on the front and the other group on the back.

8. With the smaller circle use the cropdile or eyelet tool to create the eyes on the top of the circle. Then use the brad to hold the photo clip for the bottom half of the circle. I ended up changing it for the kids and made the brads orange so it look more like a beak color and the pink photo clip became the wattle! Glue the head on the front side of the turkey just above the bigger circles.

7. Decorate your house with these cute turkeys or give as a gift! :) What an easy homemade gift!!

Fall Fun For Everyone including the little ones

I am having a Mommy and Me Workshop this week. I sometime struggle with coming up with projects simple enough for the little ones (3-5) to do so I hope what I have come up with will work!! :) Since it is fall time I decided to do something with pumpkin and candy! What a great combination!!

First is the many faces of a pumpkin. Here I made the pumpkin with two different oranges...

Supplies Used-
Spooky Smiles stamp set
Autumn Splendor stamp set
Autumn Terracotta, Orange, New England Ivy cardstock
Black Ink
CTMH stapler and staples

Then the kiddos will have fun random stamping with the faces from Spooky Smiles or the leaves from Autumn Splendor to make decorated paper for the sour cream candy treat holder to hold their candy corn candy. This will make a perfect little gift to give to someone like mom, dad or grandparents. Plus you can put in their favorite candy to give as a special Halloween treat!

Supplies Used-
White Daisy Cardstock
Spooky Smiles stamp set
Orange and Black ink pad
special strong double sided tape (the red tape works best...sorry I forgot the name of it!!)
Candy corn

Fall Fun For Everyone Directions for Mommy and Me

I promised directions for the fall fun projects I posted. Here they are!!!

Sour cream candy treat holder:

1. Cut out the color cardstock you would like--size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 or 4 1/2 (If you are planning on making more than one random stamp the whole paper first then cut!)

2. Random stamp the theme you are making the sour cream container for-- in my case halloween!

Remember when random stamping start with the biggest stamp first and work your way down to the smallest. This way you can fit the smallest stamp in the smallest areas.

3. Put the red tape down as show here...

4. Then peel off the "cover" for the tape that takes up the whole space...which would be on the left side in the above picture. Once done put the paper into a tube shape as shown below (sorry about the really blurry picture)

5.Then peel off the "cover" for the tape for one of the sides. Squeeze it together. Then stuff the treat inside.

6. Finally peel off the "cover" for the tape on the other side. Squeeze it the opposite direction that you did the top side of the container. You are done!! :)

Paper Strip Pumpkin:

1. Cut 7-8 1 in. strips. It can be any number whatever you prefer...I did 1 1/2 in. strips for my mommy and me class but I really think the 1 in. works better..but I think it depends on your preference!

2. Sponge some cocoa on all the strips to give it the pumpkiny look.

3. Lay all the strips out to make it into a star shape. Staples the strips together. I staples a couple times to make sure they were all stapled together. Optional: To give it the jack o'lantern look stamp the different images from spooky smiles.

4. Bring the strips up to form an oval shape and staples all strips together. I found that piecing opposite end stips and stapling them one at a time works.

5. Take some cocoa paper and put together with glue or double sided tape to make a
tube shape. Cut into the tube to get some strips to be able to glue the stem onto the pumpkin. See picture below.

6. Cut less than 1/2 inch strip of green paper and curl it using a pencil to get the vine feel. To make a leaf I used the Autumn Splendor stamp set to stamp an image of the leaf of green paper. Optional: You can crumpled the leaf up to make it look more real.

7. Glue the stem, vine and leaf onto the pumpkin. I ended up using the hot glue gun as what I was using wasn't working! Trim anything that didn't fit.

October Stamp of the Month Blog

Is it the holiday season already??? No not yet....let's get through Halloween and Thanksgiving first!! :-) But Close to My Heart is preparing you for the holiday season with this new SOTM called Holiday Warmth, a set of 11 stamps, for the month of October! I love browsing through my idea books to get ideas. But the funny thing is...my cards or layouts never look exactly like the ideas in the book. I end up with my own verison of a card. I found Geometric on page 124 in Wishes...but my card and deminsions are nothing like the card. But you can see the idea behind it! :) I scored a white daisy cardstock and rubbed with a sponge Creme Brulee ink all over the paper to give it the "shine" color. I also used sparkles and the new glitter brads to help the Christmas tree shine and sparkle. Plus with the help of liquid glass I was albe to make the star shine on top of the tree. I hope you enjoyed my Christmas card!

Here are some more birthday cards for my group of friends turning thirty!! This paper pack works perfectly for the birthdays in the fall! In fact two of my friends, Mandy and Melissa just celebrated their birthdays...and as usual I am late getting my cards in the mail! I hope they enjoy it!

Doesn't the cupcake look very YUMMY?? I used create a pearl paint to give the frosting look...it looks like you can eat it doesn't it?? I cut some scrap papers into tiny pieces to make sprinkles! Enjoy!

Everyday Celebration Cards Part 2

Here is a close up of card number one and eight. I also recreated these cards using the Jingle paper pack from the new fall/winter catalog. Enjoy!!

I am in the process of making birthday cards for my group of friends who are turning thirty! My goal is to send them a birthday card for this special birthday!! The Jingle paper pack is perfect for a winter birthday!

The card on the right is a card I made for my Aunt Donna. She is a breast cancer survivor but she just found out that her cancer has come back in her liver. I want to give her a hug so bad...but distance just doesn't make that so easy...so sending this card is my way of hugging her!! Please keep her and anyone who is fighting cancer in your prayers.

Here are some more birthday cards using Jingle. I also got a chance to use the new twinkle brads jolly assortment.

How did I cut the parenthesis? I took the parenthesis stamp set from the everyday celebration stamp set and stamp the area I wanted. Then I cut the image to get the parenthesis. Very easy to make your own card to look like this if you would like.

This first card is simple simple simple!! Can I say it again SIMPLE!! I actually found the inspiration from a thank you card that my parents got. When I saw the thank you card I thought it looks so much like the September SOTM. What do you think??? I random stamped the cardstock with versamark ink pad and then covered the ink with white daisy embossing powder. To make the powder stick you use the craft heater to melt the powder onto the card. Like I said EASY and SIMPLE!

The next two cards I found my ideas from the new Card Confidence Program called Wishes! I love this book--just another book to help me get my creative juice going!!

The second card is called Keep It Level. I used the small "pom pom" to create a sun by going around in circle. Then I took the stem to make the rays on the circle and then on the bamboo cardstock. Thank you to Katy D. who shared this creative idea of turning the "pom pom" into a sun! She really was thinking outside of the box to come up with this idea. The background and texture paper is a new paper from the paper pack called grace. I thought the flowers looked like different versions of the sun!!

That's Amore Workshop with the Cherish Chicks

On September 12th at 1:00 PM my club members (the Cherish Chicks) will be getting together to create anywhere from 2 to 6 beautiful pages from That's Amore level 2 paper pack (x7107B) and stickease (x7107c). We create these pages (and many more) from a program called Workshop on the GO that CTMH has put together to help make scrapbooking faster, simpler, easier. At our Cherish Chicks bi-monthly workshops we will create two page layouts (sometimes 6 depending on time) that have been provided in the workshop guide. If you are interested in attending my workshop you will get a kit for 2 pages for $6.00 or a kit for 6 pages for $15.00. These kits will have all the paper for you plus the embellishments you will need to complete the pages. You will also have a chance to use my stamps and inks. Contact me today if you would like to create these layouts, attend the workshop or for more information about my club.

Below you will see my six pages I have created from the That's Amore workshop guide. The pictures I have on my layouts are from my friend's wedding. Maura, Amy and I are friends from college...it is always good to see friends!! Especially when those friends live so far away! I was the person in charge of the camera as you can see in one of the pictures! :) I had my camera, Amy's camera AND Maura's camera and was snapping away with all three of them. I took so many pictures on Maura's camera that I ran out of space on the scan disk--which means she didn't have alot of pictures from her second reception. Opps!! But to my defense I was told they had a second scandisk but they never brought it to the wedding!! Enjoy the pictures and layouts!

Details of the flowers- I used flower die cuts from the two scrapbook stores here in town while I was cropping there. I also add the bitty flowers and brads from the Shades of Chocoloate mini- meldey accents.

Close up of flip flap memory protectors-- I also did this on page 4. This flip flap memory protector is a great way to add more pictures to a page. Not only that but another place to add extra journaling if needed!!

Kid's Club

I enjoy working with kids...that should be no surprise to anyone!! I have always loved being around children. Plus I love what I do with papercrafting! Therefore I started what I call Kid's Club. My next Kid's Club event is a Back to School Bash THIS Saturday!!

Here are some pictures of the projects we will be making...

Pencil Holder using only paper and ribbon scraps from my scrap box!!! I also added some bling with clear sparkles on the tube. I also added flower with a pewter brad on one end and a button with hemp tied on the other end. I got the tube from Michaels in the $1 section...it previously held the glowing bracelets which I will save for another day! :)

Name on notebooks and folders using D1301 Hodge Podge stamp set for letters and D1204 Delight in Everything for the flower

Backpack charm...(shrinky dinks!)

What stamp I used and what size it is now!!

How did it shrink??
First I brought special shrinky dink paper from Hobby Lobby. (You can probably find in any craft stores)
Then I used permanent ink like stazon and permanent markers (I also tried color pencils..it works..but not as bright as the markers) to stamp and color in the images. Don't forget to hole punch it before cooking...
Then I cooked in the oven for a couple minutes (toaster oven works so much better but we don't have one at home!) Let cool and then used it as planned...in my case add it to the lanyard hook to make into backpack charms!

Can you see it curling?? :) That means it is getting smaller! Sorry not a good picture but it gives you an idea!!

Everything together EQUALS a fun day at Kid's Club Back to School Bash!!

I finally got a chance to use the August Stamp of the Month to create a birthday card for my brother!! His birthday was actually last weekend so I cheated and sent him a ecard. I saved my handmade card to give with his presents since we were going to see him this weekend. I really like this card...and how it was simple and easy!! Enjoy!!

What's your favorite?

Everyone has a favorite...whether is it a TV show, movie, food, drink or hobby. Every paper crafter has a favorite card, layout or paper project. The last card I just posted is one of my favorite cards that I have created recently. This week since I am in a middle of a big scrapbooking project (hopefully I will be able to share it with you next week!) I thought I would share an old time favorite I made when I was just starting with CTMH. (I apologize for the size of the pictures and the fact they are a bit blurry. These are older pictures I found in my saved files. I am still working on ways to take better pictures of my projects.)

The first card and its color comes from the "Let's Get Together" paper pack and Delight in Everything (D1204) stamp set.

The second card is a random stamping background using the stamp set "Hang Ten" (retired). The colors I used in this card is cocoa, watermelon, topiary, citrus leaf and bubblegum.

I used More To Adore paper pack and color scheme for the last card . The stamp image is from the Adorable (D1183) stamp set.

With my first post and card I want to say "Thank You!!" I have so many things to say thank you for!

First of all, I want to thank you for first of all stopping and visiting my little corner of the blogging world! :) I am very excited about this new adventure and I really hope that this will motivate me to get more scrapping and stamping done to share with you along with teaching you techniques and anything else that has to do with scrapbooking!

A BIG thanks to those who I have asked for name suggestions for my new blog! As you can tell I have decided on Scramper's Corner! I knew I wanted scramper but I just couldn't decide on a blog name! So I asked friends and fellow CTMH consultant for ideas...and wow did the come up with some good ideas!! If you know me I have a hard time making decisions so it did take me a while to decide! BUT the funny thing is....I picked my favorite that I had from the beginning. Thanks again everyone...and I did promise a blog candy (it is a surprise!) to anyone who helped with out with name suggestions! Patricia P. from CTMH is the blog candy winner! Please email me with your address!

The past few weeks I have been making thank you cards to put in the mail. So I was super excited to have just the right card for my first post! A thank you card! :) I just love my thank you card I made--it was very simple and fun to make! I even got to use my new cuttlebug that I got for my birthday! Lately every time I get a store brought card in the mail I think about how I could make one similar to it! I got a birthday card from dear friends and I wanted to see if I could make my own version of this. So thank you to Dick and Jo for this card--I was inspired to make one of my favorite cards I have made!! What do you think??

This is a 4x4 card. I have chosen this color combination based on Jeanette's Color Me Monday a few weeks back. (http://www.jeanettelynton.com/) The juniper paper is 1 1/2 in. and has been embossed with the distressed striped. I also distressed it a bit more using my sanding block from CTMH. I love distressing the paper because you can see the white core when doing that! Another way to see the white core is to tear the paper just as I did with the Hollyhock cardstock. This is a 3x4 which I tore about 1/2 inch off. With the creme brulee square (about 2x2...each card that I made had a different size) I embossed this with spots and dots. Then I filled in the circles with colors by using a q-tip and ink to color in the circles. The thank you was stamped with hollyhock onto a creme brulee cardstock. I raised this stamp by using a foam pop dot. I also included a blush polka dot ribbon by tying a knot on one end and because I couldn't decide on some cards I had the ribbon go over the creme brulee square (as shown above) and on other cards I had the ribbon underneath the square.
